Yes. It's that time of the year again, and just like we, college students, get a week off from classes, it seems that most doctors at San Jose also join in the fun of Spring Break by taking a week off from volunteer duties. Consequently, when I went to the clinic early this week, there was little clinical-related (and even office-related) work for me to do. Hence, I was at the clinic for only about an hour, speaking with some of the nurses about the most common diseases treated at the clinic, rather than actually volunteering. They willingly shared some stories about rather extreme cases of diabetes and obesity, and I would willingly share them as they did if it weren't for the fact that I might break some confidentiality rules.
So, excuse the brief and uninformative post as there was truly nothing useful for volunteers to do at San Jose during Spring Break. Hopefully, next week will be much more productive.
