With three exams this week and the start of a new research project with the chemistry department, I was unable to go to the clinic this week. I have already completed over 20 hours of volunteering at San Jose, but will continue volunteering there over the summer.
This post, then, is an update on creating the materials on obesity for the clinic, my group members being Jon, Patrick, and Faraz. I believe we will be particularly focusing on child obesity, with a Spanish version to be provided to the volunteer coordinator, Sam, for approval to be distributed. We have not discussed details on what information will be contained in the brochure, but I am thinking we could simplify lipid metabolism and storage in adipocytes, and include easy-to-follow nutrional and exercise tips to improve their health.
